To experience a place and its culture, food and wine are a great starting point. For Argentina, that means grilled meats and Malbec. Their word for that is “asado” – describing both the meal and the gathering.
The Argentinian asado is rooted in the traditions of that country’s gauchos. It brings people together, offering time to relax, talk and drink wine. It’s said asados are where acquaintances become friends, and friends become family. We’ll raise a glass to that.
Like those barbecues in Argentina, our Holly Hill Wine Guild asado features several meats, including beef, chicken and sausages grilled over open flame. To highlight the food’s natural flavors, it’s seasoned only with salt. Chimichurri, if you choose, at the table.
The meal will also include empanadas, grilled corn salad, sliced tomatoes, rice and beans. For dessert, macerated peaches.
Then there’s the wine. We’ll pair that mouthwatering food with three glasses of the full-bodied, full-flavored wines of Argentina. Malbec, of course, is Argentina’s signature grape. We’ll also pour a crisp, fruity white made from the Torrontes grape.
The grills at Fasig-Tipton will be outside. We’ll be seated in the cool comfort of the Seattle Slew room. Doors open at 6 pm. Dinner service begins at 6:30 pm. Prices include service. Tax added on checkout.
Please, join us for this unique summer event. Our asado will be an opportunity to savor both delicious flavors and the company of kindred spirits.
